When I signed up gor Spotify, I gad a bit of a problem doing so, months after checking my bank account, I noticed I had been paying £9.99 twice a month, so I hopefully stopped one account. But I would like to know thst this has definitely happened.

Hi there,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community. We're here to help 🙂

Can you check if you can see the next payment on the account that you think you've cancelled the subscription on? If you don't, it should be cancelled. You can check that on your account review here > Plan.

Let us know how it goes so that we can continue to assist you if you need us to.

Take care!

Live, love, laugh and listen to music 🙂

My husband has an account and I shared with him -- we both use same email. I had to take my Spotify off my phone because I had ran out of room -- I went to put it back on

and now they opened an account for me??  We have always shared at 9.99 per month.

How do I get my account back to just his?  He has had this account a long time with lots of music, library etc.,  I do not want to pay for 2 accounts; especially when he has already got it all set up BUT it seems that when I added it back on -- it signed me up??

Hey there @Jig1 Judy,

Thanks for reaching out about this.

It's common to create a new account by accident if you're logging on a different device and you don't know your login credentials. The new account you've created is on Spotify free and you won't be charged for it. You can simply log out, and log back in with the right credentials for the original account you share with your husband.

If at any point, you've entered a payment method info, like a card number/ PayPal etc. then you could have set up a second premium subscription.

What I recommend is for you to check if the new account you've created (You'll recognize it by the profile picture, username and the lack of liked songs and playlists) is on Premium at all. On a phone you can check this like so:

  1. Open the app
  2. Tap Home
  3. Tap the gear icon
  4. Under Account you can see if it says Premium or Free.
  5. If it does say Premium, click on it > See Premium plans > Change plans on web.

This will take you to the account page on the web page where you can see exactly when you've created the Premium subscription.  If you click on Change Plan and then scroll down to the bottom of the next page you'll see the option to cancel Premium.

So you can cancel the extra subscription like this. Let us know if you need any help.
