I want to change from my premium UK duo account to my sister’s family premium account in Italy

Hello,

I recently moved from UK to Italy. In order to save some pennies, I’d like to move my premium duo account (based in the UK) to my sister’s Italian family premium account. 
She sent me an invite, but I know I first need to change my payment method in order to change country from UK to Italy.

My question is: by doing all these changes, will I lose all  my playlists and Liked songs? 
That’s my priority!

By changing you Premium plan, you won't lose any content. You'll still have all your songs, except for those that might be unavailable in Italy, compared to the United Kingdom. You can read about it here:

Before accepting your sister's invitation, I recommend that you cancel your current Premium Duo subscription and change the country/region of your Spotify account so you can pass the address validation.

thank you for helping me. So even if I cancel my premium account first, then change country and then join my sister’s, I won’t lose my Liked songs from my account? Can you 100% guarantee as music is important to me and I want to avoid losing songs at any cost?

For sure! Your listening experience is so much important to Spotify as it’s for you! Don’t worry, if you just switch your current plan for another one, you won’t lose your content. But just to make sure we are on the same page, switching your plan doesn’t mean necessarily change your account, so if you keep your current Spotify account, regardless if you’re on the Family, Duo, Student, Individual or Free tiers, your library is kept normally.

I can’t just switch accounts. What you explained is that I need to cancel my account first, then change country from UK to Italy and then I’ll be able to join my sister’s Italian family account. Is this correct? Will I 100% not lose my liked songs? Thank you so much!

Hi again!

You don’t need to cancel your account. Instead, you just need to cancel your current Premium subscription… Once you do it, you need to change the country set for your account, from the UK to Italy. But you need to keep in mind that to enter a Premium Family plan, you need to live at the same address as the family.

Hi Luan,

many thanks. I just cancelled my premium subscription but Spotify doesn’t allow me to change country. I tried by changing the payment method or by entering my profile and changing country only. 
Is this because my subscription is valid until tomorrow so I will only be able to change country from tomorrow and consequently join my sister’s premium account ?

Hi! 
Once your account gets reversed to the Free tier, you'll be able to change the country setting, by following those steps:

1. Log in to your account page.
2. Click EDIT PROFILE.
3. Scroll down to Country or region and select your new one from the dropdown list.
   Note: Your new country or region only shows when you’re actually there.
4. Click SAVE PROFILE.

Note: If you created your account with Facebook or Apple, you also need to change your country or region settings with those services.
