Kicked off Basic Family Plan, forced to reenroll on premium family plan

My Question or Issue

recently switched from Premium family plan to Basic family plan as I do not listen to podcasts and used a valid payment method to pay for it. I then received an email saying that the payment didn't go through and asking me to sign up to Premium Family Plan.

I have signed up for Prem Fam Plan with the same card that the payment failed with. Now I do not see the option for Basuc Family plan. I have been a long time member of Spotify, this seems very scammy. I would like the Basic family plan reinstated immediately. Thanks for reaching out about this here in the Community. 

You can switch anytime from Premium Family to Premium individual by following the steps here. Keep in mind that the change will take place when your current plan ends. You can check when your current plan ends on your Account page. If for some reason you're not able to change your subscription this way, you can also cancel your current plan and wait for your account to revert to the free service. Then, you'll able to re-subscribe to Premium individual here. No worries, you won't lose any content, you'll just need to re-download your content once you have Premium again. 

On another note, keep in mind that the difference between Premium Family and Premium individual is that Premium Family is for up to 6 people and Premium individual is for only one person, the podcast catalogue is the same for both plans.

This happened to me too. So disappointed. I was asked to updated my payment and ended up with a premium student plan??? Immediately let them know and they say now I can’t go back to BASIC plan. Such a scam. Why not just announce basic is gone vs scam people out of it.
