Spotify keeps asking me for my payment details

Spotify keeps asking me for my payment details

So I paid for Spotify premium individual on the 21 of April and today I received an email from Spotify asking me to pay. Why is this happening, I even have the receipt sent to me by Spotify validating my subscription

Hi there @Kingsalah,

Thanks for reaching out. Check your receipts page and make sure that this isn't just a case of some payment getting billed later than expected due to failed payments. If the system attempts to charge you but this fails, it will try again in a few days and if that fails, it will again wait a few days before the next attempt. If the payment fails several times, your subscription can get canceled and your account can be reverted to free.

If however the payment is successful but only after let's say 3 or 4 attempts, the subscription stays active, but the billing date will remain the same. So if the billing date is fro example on the 5th, but because of failed payments it goes through on the 15th, the next payment will still be on the 5th. This can create the illusion that you got less than a month, but this is not the case, there was simply a delay as to when the money was actually debited. If you cancel your subscription, the account will revert to free on the next billing date, so something like this can also create the illusion that your subscription expired earlier than it was supposed to.

Hope this clears things up.

Hey @Arleavia63,

Thanks for reaching out.

Please check the suggestions above and contact your bank to make sure that your payment was indeed successful. If not, try the steps in this card.

We hope this helps!

I keep getting these emails too asking me to update via a link.  The sender email address is "Spotify <**bleep**>".  I've double checked my billing details on my account and everything is up to date and fine, so there's something weird going on.  I followed up with them directly and after lots of questions from me and very little help, the guy finally checked it out and said that they were having some difficulties with incorrect emails going out and I should just ignore it.  As someone who has worked in IT that's a pathetic approach.    They should be a) immediately sending out emails to their customer base to check their billing details are correct and, if so, ignore these emails b) get it fixed asap (received a load more today!) and c) wising up their support team that they have a problem and how to handle it efficiently.  I'm actually very suspicious that they may have been hacked as no company in this day and age should be sending you emails with links to update payment details, be it an error or not.  Anyhow, always only go via your own independant log in to the actual site and check or manage your account payment through there, never through a link.
