Hey there @LukaTodorovic123,
Thanks for the post.
Can you make sure that the Enhance button on top of your playlists is switched off (Gray)? If Enhance is active it automatically ads similar songs to your playlists.
If this option is switched off and you keep getting random songs in your playlists, can you send us a screenshot of how things look on your end, and let us know if you're playing music in Shuffle mode?
Cheers.
Hi Alex,
Thanks for the reply, I appreciate your involvment.
The Enhance button is switched off, I am sure it is not causing the problems.
Also, the issue came up both when I listened with shuffle, as well as without it.
The issue also came up when I listened to my custom playlists, but also when I listened to albums by other artists (for example, I played the new Red Hot Chili Peppers album, and after the first song, this ""20moon20" started playing).
Yesterday, I reinstalled Spotify on my phone. However, I knew this would not fix the issue, because it is also occurring on my laptop.
This morning, as soon as I opened the Spotify app on my phone, it started playing, you guess it - 20moon20.
If there is not someone messing with my account, then it is a very very bad glitch in the app. It is a little bit disappointing for a 10-a-month app to have this kind of breakdown.
A screenshot just shows that, while I am stuck in my playlist (play bar), the actual music played is by this random artist.
I can also mention that I have a persistent long-term bug that does not get fixed with the updates, which is that sometimes I open the app and play music, but the play bar at the bottom doesn't appear, which prevents controlling playback.
It would probably be best if you investigated if any devices/users have access to my account first, or why is even 20moon20 in my recommended artists. I do not listen to music like that at all.
Thanks for your efforts.
Best
Luka
Hey @LukaTodorovic123,
Thank you for keeping in contact.
We tried to reproduce the issue on our end with the album you mentioned, but everything works fine. However, since you mentioned that it happens on your laptop as well, it could be related to the queue. We'd recommend checking your Play queue to see if those tracks can be seen there.
If not, it's possible that someone is accessing your account without permission. In this case, we'd suggest following the steps mentioned in this article to perform a security process and make sure you're the only one using the account.
Lastly, if the issue persists, could you record a short video where we can take a better look? You can attach it to your next response by using the Insert Video option in the post editor. You can also upload it to YouTube or Google Drive and share the link with us (make sure the video has the permissions for anyone to see it).
We'll be on the lookout.
Here is the video:
It seems clear to me that this is some sort of a system malfunction.
I played the album, and then suddenly the next song was 20moon20. I looked in the queue, and it was packed with these songs, until coming to the section "Next from" which is the album I wanted to listen to. When I swiped all the way to the album songs, and swiped backwards, it did not re-play the 20moon20 but went back to the previous song on the album in the correct order.
So it could be that something is adding 20moon20 to the queue. I don't know if it could be some virus, or whatever. Perhaps you should check the owner of that music playlist as well.
Hey @LukaTodorovic123,
Thank you for keeping in contact and for the info shared.
In the video, we could see that the queue was full with songs from the album you mentioned before. However, we also saw that you already cleared the queue by hitting the next button a couple of times. To continue investigating this case, after you cleared the queue, the songs keep reappearing on the queue when you restart the app?
If so, it's possible that someone is accessing your account and putting songs on the queue since we don't have an option to add to the queue remotely to a user's account. In this case, we'd recommend contacting our Customer Support so they can secure your account and check if someone is accessing it without permission.
Let us know how it goes
Hi Oscar.
So I just went back to the app, and played a random album, and the 20moon20 songs were in the queue again. However, when I cleared the queue and restarted the app, they did not re-appear back in the queue.
Do you recommend that I contact customer support?
I got in touch with customer support, we reset the password and logged out of all devices. They said there were 2 corrupted devices logged in. I don't know if this refers to my own devices, or somebody else's devices.
In any case, I will see if the issue is removed now.
Hey @LukaTodorovic123,
Thank you for keeping in touch.
We're glad to know that everything is working fine by now. Those corrupted devices could be old devices you may have and no longer use, or other devices connected to your account. However, if the password was changed and the corrupted devices deleted by the Customer support, there's nothing to worry about 🙂
We appreciate the time you took reporting this issue and for sharing that is not happening anymore. Hopefully this will help other users that come to this thread with a similar issue.
In case you need something else, remember that we're just a post away.
Cheers!
