Trial not working + Student discount

Hi!

I registered on spotify premium the 27th may 2018. I just saw  they charged me 9,99 the same day. Ain't it supposed to be free for the first month? 
Furthermore, I can't seem to be able to activate the canadian student discount.

Finally, what would be the best way to listen to the music i download ? Can't i sort it by genre or something? Cause actually i have alot of music on my library but i don't know the best way to listen, lets say, to only american hip-hop, or prog. rock.

In this case, it's very likely just a pending charge if you haven't received a confirmation email/receipt from Spotify. There's more info about this here. If the payment was indeed taken, it's possible that your account or payment method weren't eligible for the 30-day free trial and your subscription started at the full rate.

On the other hand, you can apply for the student discount here. For best results, we'd recommend doing so from a desktop computer with a strong Internet connection. Regarding your last question, you can find all the info available on our Offline mode on our Support page.

Hmm, im not that much of a newbie to these applications neither....

I use to have ALOT of music files on my cellphone, now i have to start over. But my point is; the only way to sort music by genre would be to make playlists ? Isn't there an algorythm that could help me within your beautiful application ? 

And i saw theres a 3 333 songz limit for my cellphone with spotify, i think thats inconveniant.
