My Question or Issue
My Premium Student subscription was recently cancelled due to a payment failure with my automatic UPI mandate. When I try to resubscribe through the Spotify app on my phone, the checkout page only shows a credit card option. There’s no UPI option available.
However, when I try on my laptop using Chrome, the UPI option does appear. But after selecting it, I’m still redirected to a page that asks for card details instead of UPI ones.
Interestingly, this issue only occurs with the Student Premium subscription plan - if I choose the Student Premium one-time payment or any other Premium plan, the UPI payment options work as expected on both devices. My student verification is still valid, so that shouldn't be the issue.
Could you please help me resolve this?

Facing same issue
Hey folks,
Thanks for posting to the Community! Let’s try some steps to see if it makes a difference. First, can you try processing payment using a different browser or incognito/private window. Also, if you’re using a VPN, I recommend turning it off.
If you’re still having trouble, can you try the same steps using a different Wi-Fi network or mobile data to see if the issue persists?
Let me know how this goes!
Same issue...
Hey Billy,
I tried all of the steps and even worked with the customer care, but nothing seemed to work.
Hey folks,
Thanks for the updates and for letting me know what steps you’ve tried. I’ve passed this on to the relevant teams who will be taking a closer look into this. I will post any updates about this here shortly.
Stay tuned!
Even I am not able to make the payment through UPI. My student status is confirmed but the problem arises when we select the payment method. Even after selecting "Payment through UPI" the checkout window that opens is for card payment only. See if can be resolved.
I am sure I have followed all necessary steps for student verification...
The same thing is happening to me as well.

My Question or Issue
The payment portal for student premium displays 2 options, credit/debit and UPI. But clicking on the UPI option displays credit/debit details. I am not able to use UPI as I don't have a credit/debit card.

Technically, it doesn't count as a proper solution, but the UPI option does work on the student plan if you just pay for a month. That is the way I am using it for the time being.
