Using two 6 month gift cards at once to obtain a constant one-year period

My Question or Issue

I'd like to give as a gift the Premium license, using a gift card.  For some reason it seems that in Finland I cannot buy a gift card for a whole year, the maximum period is 6 months.  So:  If a person gets two gift cards, can he type in the codes from both of the cards at the same time, in order to get Premium working for one year?  So that he would not need to renew the Premium license after 6 months.

Yes, that’s correct. You can redeem up to 18 months of Premium time in any given period. So, when you purchase those gift cards, your friend can redeem them here. There’s also more information about gift cards, for your reference.

Thank you for your answer!  Just to confirm I got it right:  It is possible to redeem two (and even three) 6 month gift cards "with one blow", i.e. using them all at once, and thus getting an uninterrupted period for 12 (or even 18) months of Premium Spotify?

Yes, that’s correct! You can stack up to 18 months of Premium time. So, if you redeem 4 gift cards, the system will reject one of them since it will be pass the limit of 18 months of Premium time at a time.

My warmest thanks for your answers!  This would then work just as I wished it would.  It just turned out now, unfortunately, that in Finland they seem to have changed the gift cards so, that they have "only" money value, instead of being defined for a specific number of months.  So, the gift cards in Finland don't give one the possibility to give a strict time period as a gift (I would like to renew the gift yearly, and not at some vague point of time).  This was something I had not realized before now going to the store...

But surely your answers might help many others :).

I understand your concern. I have just taken a closer look and can confirm that gift cards are being discontinued and hence why some of the rules may differ from place to place.
