Hi! is there a way to pay for someone else's account (for a year) as a gift?

Unfortunately, you can't do that.

But you can get him a Gift Card so he can use it to buy a yearly subscription at this link.

EDIT: You can either use a Gift Card to get a yearly subscription, so the only way is to get him a Gift Card and pay monthly using its account balance.

Hi! I looked into the gift cards and it says that the full value of the card has to be redeemed when it is used, so if i buy a $100 giift card will the rest be wasted when he pays for one month? or do i have to buy 12 $12 gift cards?

It’s not true: your $100 Gift Card will be applied in your balance, so the normal payment method linked to your account will be used as soon as your balance ends.. like a wallet!
