My Question or Issue

I recently saw that I was charged for a premium subscription when I am paying for a student subscription. I was never notified or reminded that I needed to re-enter my student information before the 12 months were over. I tried to go back and subscribe to the student account but it is making me pay again for the subscription when I was already charged for the premium subscription. How do I go about being refunded for the premium account and can switch to the student without being charged for it?

Thanks for reaching out about this here in the Community. 

 

If your Student subscription has been changed to an Individual one, it means your Student subscription has expired and needs a renewal. The Student subscription should be renewed every 12 months for up to 4 years in total. Here is how to do that. 

 

If you've already paid, you won't be charged again when switching from Premium individual to the Student discount.

My Question or Issue

Hi, I'm having an issue, I applied to premium student about a bit over a month ago, and they verified my document and all, and said that my next payment will be charged with the student discount, but checking now it says that I'm still on the individual plan and being charged the full price. When I try to reapply for the student account, it says my document is invalid.

I had an active student subscription, but in February I noticed I was charged for an individual plan. I re-verified my student status and was approved again, but the billing has continued at the non-student rate.

 

According to your policy, student subscribers should receive a renewal notice — but I didn’t receive any. The payment was automatically made using my card.

 

I want to kindly request a refund for the months I was incorrectly charged at the individual rate instead of the student rate, as I’ve maintained valid student status and took action as soon as I noticed the issue.

 

Could you please let me know how can I do that.

Thanks for getting in touch about this here in the Community. 

 

Keep in mind that to activate the student discount, you need to click on "Get discount" in the confirmation email from SheerID. This is the only way to activate the discount, and you'll start paying the discounted price from the next billing date, which you can always check on your Account page

 

On another note, about 4 weeks before expiration, you should have received an email with instructions on how to renew and re-verify your eligibility with SheerID. If you can't find it, we suggest checking the Spam/Junk folder.
