Blend Playlist Update Trigger

I've been enjoying the new blend playlist feature and have been trying to figure out when the playlists update. I know that it is daily, but more specific than that it appears to have different times that the update gets triggered.

For example, I've opened different blend playlists and it shows it as having not been updated, then I'll open the playlist again a few seconds later and it says the playlist was updated just then (a few seconds ago). It makes it seem that my opening the playlist triggered it to refresh. This also happens after over a 24 hour period of not updating - as one would expect since it updates daily.

However there are other times I open the playlist and it says it updated an hour ago and neither myself nor the other person in the blend opened the playlist. So it apparently updated automatically.

Does anyone know when the update actually triggers?
