Dear recommendation algorithm developers

Dear recommendation algorithm developers

Imagine a user listening to a podcast (actually any podcast) for 10 minutes and then never again for 12 months. What does that tell you?

A. They liked that podcast (any podcast actually) so much that they want it to be the very first thing they see when they open Spotify for the rest of their lives.

B. They don't care at all about that podcast (any podcast actually) and at some point might get so annoyed about getting it shoved into their face over and over again that they seriously consider canceling their subscription.

Choose wisely.

Hi @ral111.

Thank you for sharing your feedback on the Community.

Sometimes you can see recommendations even if you don't regularly listen to those topics. Even though it's not possible to manually remove them from your Home screen, they should disappear after some time. In the meantime, keep listening to your favorite artists and playlists to keep receiving recommendations that better adapt to your taste and listening habits.

You can also leave a +Vote on this idea that asks for the possibility to customize the Home Screen.

Thanks for making it clear how valued that feedback actually is by removing the post.

Sensitive topic apparently. Not sure how decision makers in your company come to the conclusion that harrasing users with recommendations for content they very obviously dislike helps in any way to keep a happy, and more importanly paying userbase. But, well, mysterious are the ways of the lord...
