My Question or Issue

Like many who have already posted requests for the above im shocked and appalled that such a basic feature such as deleting a recently played poscast from your history is missing, especially from such a well established app. I have 18+ poscasts with inappropriate titles are being recommended to my kids on my homepage, its unacceptable that this is being allowed to happen. I will be deactivating my account until this is finally implemented and I am switching to rival company Deezer who I know has this feature.

At this point I'll just start moving my playlists to Apple Music and my podcasts to apple podcasts. I'll have a better experience in both and not have to deal with whatever is going on with Spotify the last few months.
Not gonna lie, I'll miss the suggestions but at this point Spotify is just not worth my money anymore. I can't remember the last update where a new feature was introduced that I said "Wow! now that's is a great idea".

Hello,

As an active member of the Spotify Star program, I understand that you may be frustrated with your recent experience on Spotify. However, I would like to remind you that on March 8th, Spotify announced new updates to the application, including the DJ "new AI" that promises to revolutionize the experience for our users.

As a Spotify enthusiast, I can say that I am excited to try out the new updates and see how they can further improve my music and podcast streaming experience. Spotify is constantly working to improve its platform and provide the best experience possible for its users, and as a member of the Spotify Star program, I am proud to support it.

I hope you will consider giving Spotify another chance and trying out the new updates that are coming soon. Best regards and have a great week!

Hi mzbasty,

Try following the instructions again.

I found the option.

Sadly it hasn't removed the one podcast I really want to get rid off.

It almost knows that I'm trying to remove that one

See file for help

This helps in no way the problem stated in this thread.

Well guys, give Spotify 1 or 2 stars in the app with a reason and then hopefully they will add the feature

Here is a workaround:

  1. Open the podcast and scroll to the top.
  2. Click on the cog/setting icon and under the mange section, click on Mark as played.
  3. Now, click on Mark all as played --> Done.

Now the podcast won't appear in the top section of your spotify homepage.

Hope this helps!

So how many different versions of this app, each with its own unique UI, are there, anyway. None of the suggestions here work for me on my iPad, Chromebook, or iMac.

None of these solutions work for me, either. It even starts autoplaying a podcast that I don’t want to listen to whenever an episode of the podcasts I do listen to finish! It’s driving me crazy! I’m about to cancel my subscription over this, it’s so frustrating.

Hello everyone I think I have found a fix. I don't know if this works or not because maybe spotify added this but didn't tell us. The podcasts that showed up in my cards auto disappeared themselves so I'm not sure whether spotify added this feature I will tell you now and used it to delete them. But anyway open spotify, go to settings in the top right corner (it will be like a cog wheel you see before you enter your phone settings), then go all the way down till you see notifications, click on it, then click on podcast & show recomendations and once you're in there, turn both push and email toggles to off, once you've done that, back out of it once and in that same notifications settings scroll down to the bottom till you see new podcast episodes, click on it and once you're in there, turn off any toggles to any of the podcasts that it says you have in there. Like i said before i don't know if this works im just letting you know these options are there and that they 'might' be able to fix them. Hopefully🤞. All the best spotifyers 😃

This also does not solve the issue of removing the podcasts on your main screen.

I have tried subscribing to 6 other podcasts that are bearable, but Spotify will not remove the one single **bleep**ing podcast show I'm trying to get rid off!

I'm not even allow to rate the show, because it says I need to listen to it first! but then why the **bleep** are you still pushing this podcast on my feed.

I think the only option is to close your account an create a new one !

I have "deleted" my podcast history, by creating a new account
Hi All,

It took a while (about an hour) but I created an new account by using @googlemail instead of @gmail (emails will go to the same account).

I transferred all my playlists over to the new one, by long winded copy paste actions.

This has been the only solution to erase the history.

From now on, I will not click or listen to ANY podcasts on spotify.

I was gonna say the exact same thing: something I accidentally played keeps showing up. Smfh 🤦🏻‍♀️

Just simple delete feature. the update didnt helped out.

Not only did you not help, you are so far off topic it's a distraction.  You want to help?  Use your "Rising star" label to push the issue with Spotify.  The ask is simple, let us remove podcasts we are no longer interested in seeing on our homepages that we are not following.   Quit begging for people to like you.

Guys I found a solution, go to

main screen, on top select “podcasts&shows” then scroll down to the podcast you don’t want to see anymore, tap on three dots and select “Not interested”

voila

This doesnt work.  The options from the 3 dots are:

Follow (Which shows because Im not following the pod)

Rate Show

Share

Show Spotify Code

There is no "Not Interested" option.

i added other podcasts that i'm more interested in - this removed one specific podcast from my homepage. its not a permanent solution but it worked for me

I’m convinced that Spotify WANTS this to not be possible so that you buy a new subscription just for your kid.

One way is to listen to other playlists enough to try to get the playlist you don't want out of the homepage, the downside is that it may show up in you podcasts & shows category.

There isn't a way to delete playback history (a feature desperately needed) but you can stop it from being recommended and appearing on your account. You must follow the podcast (even if you don't want to), refresh the page, and then unfollow again. You will need to refresh the page once more to see it update, but it will go away on ALL devices.

Here's why it works. Following the podcast indicates that you are interested in the content and then unfollowing tells Spotify you no longer wish to see that content, thus making it disappear and no longer recommended it also disappears from the recommended area at the top. you must follow it first as Spotify doesn't know if you like the content and will keep recommending it until it has a definitive answer, unfollowing is that definitive answer.
