Delete recommendations page?

Delete recommendations page?

I don't hear podcasts at all, however, I once got an erotic podcast as a recommendation in my main page. I was with a friend so we listened to it for the giggles. Literally one time.

What's going on now? My main page is flooded with recommendations for erotic podcasts. It's been months and I've never clicked on any of them. What should I do? How do I delete this section of recommendations? It's so annoying, I don't want anyobody to think I'm a pervert.

Hi there @MiguelRc,

Thank you for posting your feedback in the Community.

At the moment, it's not possible to remove certain sections from the Home Screen. However, there's an idea suggestion about this. You can leave a +VOTE and Subscribe to the thread for any updates.

We're always testing things by adding or removing features to make Spotify better overall and we’re constantly aiming to improve our features. We’re sorry that this means you’re not able to use Spotify like you wish to do at the moment.

Once again, thanks for the feedback, we do appreciate it.

Let us know if you have any questions.

I too would like to remove unwanted suggestions.  Please Spotify make this a possibility.

Same. I would like to customize sections. I definitely don't click on these podcasts and it is annoying and absurd from a user experience that it is taking up that important space in my life.

I find it hilarious that I can find posts requesting this feature from literally 10 years ago. They recommend posting about it, but then nothing ever happens. Going to look into Apple music, screw this noise.

Same here. Time to dump Spotify and find another service that doesn't force genres/music down my throat using their prime UI real estate areas!

Hi MafeG, thanks for your reply... it's now a year later and i've just scrolled through a hundred or so newer threads asking for just the ability to delete a heinously disliked podcast/song/artist from our history... and I can't help but feel like we're shouting into the vacuum.

How/When/What is required for Spotify to realize that sometimes we stumble on something we truly don't ever want to hear again? It would be solved so easily by giving users access to their own listening history, and then letting us delete the podcasts/songs/artists from that page so we don't have to be faced with it again.

I don't direct this frustration at you, but the service doesn't seem to believe this essential feature is important enough - they've let it slide for over a decade now and it's always a topic on here... so why is this forum even a thing? why do the votes here exist? How can we escalate this clearly damning feature to the point of getting some actual movement on developing that simple 'delete from listening history' button?

I got on Spotify once to find all my recommendations were for trashy Russian dubstep and rap. After I changed my password, I tried to fix my recommendations and it was impossible. I had to make a new account 🙄

Idk if this would be helpful, but you can avoid those recommendations by choosing “recently played artist” in settings. This will only show your recently played podcast, so make sure you play some other podcasts of interest.

To enable this go to: settings>privacy and social> turn on ‘recently played artist’ .

Yes I would like that to very annoying how I get suggestions for my playlists and how it plays songs we all don’t want

If you don't allow me to change this I will immediately switch to apple music and never look back.

This decision could go down in history as one of the worst decisions ever made by a tech company, on par with META.  The person or team that pushed this through should be sacked, immediately.  You are literally about to destroy your company for nothing.  Wow.

So like will it be ever an option to remove those recommendations cause i really don't want to see them

I took an Uber that was listening to a religious podcast (it was torture) and now I have the worst nightmare with this recommendations. I've never ever clicked on a single podcast in my life, I never liked it at all. Now I have an avalanche of **bleep** in my mais page. Not even mentioning about the crappy music and artists I'd never listen to. This is so annoying. And the fact that this is an old issue makes me sick.

So real! I can't believe how they force this garbage on us.

What a load of BS that response is. I can only hope that this issue has been corrected by now. Removing pornographic podcasts from ones recommendations should be a standard feature and is extremely unprofessional of you as a company to not allow users to prevent them from showing up.

We need this to be fixed.
