Discover weekly from followed friends not updating each week

My Question or Issue
Discover weekly from followed friends not updating each week. This is is not specific to a single friend but all my friends. Although the Date Added columns displays 1 day ago or the most recent date, actual songs are all the same from couple weeks ago.

My own discover weekly however updates each week.

Would it be possible to try and re-follow the playlists and check with your friends if the playlists are not updated on their end as well?

No its not possible to re follow them as I don't see how I can follow their discover weekly again in the desktop app version. Can it be because they haven't logged into Spotify for a while so their discover weekly is not updated automatically due to inactivity.

This is possible, yes. The Discover Weekly needs a certain amount of activity to be generated. But could you check with your friends if the playlists are updated on their end? This way we can further isolate the reasons for this behavior.
