Duplicate songs on playlist

Solved!

Duplicate songs on playlist

Because of a new update, I can’t add the same songs twice or more on a playlist. Anyone know if there’s another way?

I’m using iPhone 6s Plus and I’m using Spotify with premium. The problem is I can’t add songs more than once in a playlist.I used to add the only one song for several times but it’s not working now anymore.

I can not add song in my playlist more than one after this new update

Hello, this is a huge problem for me. The only way that I rank songs I like versus songs I love is to add them two or three times in a row to a playlist and doing it consecutively. Please add some other way to do this in the near future. Thanks! Love the app otherwise!

this is the most annoying and useless feature. just add it back, we already pay £10 a month for this and now we’re limited to what we can add to our playlist? stupid

I am a premium user and I too can no longer do it.

Why though?? And when it would be possible I hate this new updates

Maybe I should move on from this ANNOYING app, useless app

I have this theory that programmers have to justify their pay by making
changes, even if nothing is wrong. It's the only thing that explains why
no one can ever leave an app alone. If they aren't making changes, they
aren't doing anything, and then they can't justify keeping their jobs.

I loved the way Spotify was functioning, but now change after change is
making the app less user friendly, and I can't imagine any user wanting a
single one of these recent changes.

But as premium subscription it's really annoying and feels like there are
nothing to benefit for being premium

Just. Add. It. Back.

I have one specific playlist, which I use like a queue that doesn't disappear out of nowhere. That was actually Spotify Support suggestion to start doing it.

Now, when duplication of songs on playlists is no longer allowed on Android, the whole concept is dead. And it absolutely conflicts with my style of listening to and discovering new music. Which really makes me think is there any sense for me in using your brand any longer.

You can make it optional in the settings, you know.

It doesn't work on Android too, not only for Iphone. And it sucks. So many user duplicate their songs in playlists. Please repair that and add this option back. It make sense for us. 😭😭😭😭

I have a premium subscription to Spotify and I am too lazy to go to my pc to add the same song multiple times. However, what you can do is make a separate playlist with the songs that you would like to add multiple times and then click the three dots that appear under the title of the playlist and under the popup options select “Add to another playlist”. From here you can add it on to the playlist that you want it to be on and it will tell you that the songs that you have selected are already on the playlist. However with this notification you can say to add the songs to the playlist anyways. You do not need a pc/laptop to use this method and it works with the latest versions of Spotify and I have an iPhone 13 so the model shouldn’t matter either. As far as I know this is the only way to get the same song on a playlist multiple times.

You can make a playlist with the songs or song that you would like to have duplicated in it. Then in the playlist with the song on it click the three buttons under the playlist name. Select Add to other playlist  in the popup menu and find the playlist that you want to duplicate the song on. Then just click on the playlist like you normally would add a song. I know it is inconvenient but it certainly does the trick 🙂

My Question or Issue

With the new "Add to Playlist" changes, it appears that you can only add a song once to a playlist. Previously, there was an option/prompt to either add or skip duplicate tracks.

**Scenario:**
1. Go to a album.
2. Click "..."
3. Click "Add to Playlist."
4. Check the checkbox for the playlist you want to add to.
5. Click "Done" to return to the album view.
6. Click "..." again.
7. Click "Add to Playlist."
8. The checkbox is now already present.

**Implications:**
* It is not possible to add the same song more than once to the same playlist.
* Unchecking the existing checkmark removes all instances of the album/track from the playlist, even if you didn't explicitly choose to "remove from playlist" (e.g., accidental clicks).

Am I missing something?

My use case. I use a playlist to explore music, I get a tip of a song or a album then I add it to this playlist. Then I always know what I've have heard or not. If an album is good or I feel that I was not in the right mode, I add it again to the end of playlist. Some times I queue/cherry pick tracks from the playlist, then it plays the queue and then continue from the playlist afterwards.

What do I do now? I feel like my entire "listening ritual" is broken.

I just feel so tired... why change (remove) something so fundamental.

What I did was made another playlist with the song I wanted to repeat and just hit on the “add to other playlist”

I absolutely appreciate!

I absolutely agree! And for me this could be the reason not to pay any longer and to change to deezer or else IF IT WON'T FIXED!

Unfortunately it also didn't work at my app 😭

Unfortunately that "trick" also didn't work at my app 😭

I don't know if this counts as "solved".  It is a tedious work-around.  No offense, b/c I appreciate the effort to give me a work-around to a problem.
