Liked songs not syncing between devices

My Question or Issue

Liked songs are not syncing between the PC/Web apps and the iPhone/iPad apps.

Liked songs will sync between the PC and web apps.

Like songs will sync between the iPhone and iPad apps.

To test this I used an album where all the songs on the album were set to Liked.  This was the same on all the apps, PC, web, iPhone and iPad.  

I then removed the Liked status for all songs on the PC app.  This change was reflected in the web app but not the iPhone or iPad app.  

I cleared the cache for all apps which had no effect.

I uninstalled the app from the iPhone and then reinstalled it.  The songs on the iPhone were set to Liked.  I watched as the Liked song ticks came on for each song in the album.  This still did not reflect the Liked status on the PC app.

I removed the Liked status for one song on the iPhone app.  This was immediately reflected in the iPad app but not the PC or web apps.

My Question or Issue

I’m using Spotify on two Android devices and on my Windows PC, all with the same account. However, when I save songs on one device (adding them to my “Liked Songs” or saved library), some of them don’t appear on the others.

I’ve already tried logging out and back in on all devices, refreshing the library, clearing the cache, and making sure all apps are updated to the latest version — but the issue still happens.

Is there any way to force my library to fully sync across devices, or could this be an account-related issue?

I'm getting the same issue, and it's more of an issue now that mixing is "functional" on mobile. I'm using a  Samsung Galaxy S22 Android for Spotify on mobile, and Windows 11 Spotify app that doesn't allow you to edit mixes on desktop. Since there is no sort for BPM or key I have to manually sort the tracks. Sortign is MUCH easier on desktop than mobile, so I used desktop to sort.

The problem is exactly what the original poster had - desynced playlists.  I have logged out (same account) on both devices, but get the same issue. Help?

Still an issue, just used the posted workaround on my windows 11 laptop.  Liked songs now match my desktop, phone, and web player.

Surely this has enough reports by now to be moved to ongoing issues?

The issue is still there.

On linux, had to delete ~/.cache/spotify/Users/XXXX-user

Uninstalling/Reinstalling didn't work.

When I add a song to my favorities while using my phone its not added on any other device. Yes I use the same account.

Everything is OK while adding on a computer (windows).

I don't see any resonable explanation.

Hi. Since a while ago, i am having problems with listening to music on my laptop. If i add a song to a playlist from my phone while my laptop is off/Spotify app is not open, the song will just not show up on my laptop. If my laptop is on and the spotify app is running, then i can add songs drom my phone and they do show up on my pc, but any previous song i added from my phone that hasn´t shown up stays that way. i usually take those songs off my playlist and re-add them from my phone, but its anoying. i have the latest version of spotify in both devices.

I am also facing the same issue. When I like a song from windows desktop app it gets immediately reflected in the liked songs in my android app but the vice versa is not true. Kindly provide a major fix for it.

I can't believe this basic issue hasn't been addressed yet. 100s of users on reddit have documented the same issue and there is a fix there too but why can't Spotify just fix this permanently? They want to keep increasing subscription prices but can't fix their product. Getting closer to unsubscribing or going to YT music.

Spotify wont sync liked songs between devices. And it seems like it's always the desktop app thats lagging behind. It almost always takes a few days before the liked songs from my iPhone shows up on the desktop app. Other playlists are usually fine, although I have experienced a slow sync there too. This happened while the PC was on Win10 too. No, I'm not going to reinstall spotify every time i like a new song, this needs a better solution. Yes, this has happened across multiple different downloads of spotify on my desktop.

I've had the same issue with songs not syncing to my iPad, and now the same on my desktop. Come on guys, we needed to have this stuff figured out like before launch!

My Question or Issue

Spotify isn't synced on my account at all. The most recent liked songs on my PC are from a couple months ago even though I've added more since then. On the other hand, my phone (Samsung S21+) and Surface Pro 8 are both synced and have my latest songs. If I use my phone as a remote and try playing the liked songs that I have since added, I get an error saying, "Spotify can't play that right now, but you can try playing it directly from your device." I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling, restarting my PC, clearing my cache, but nothing works. If I use the web browser though it works, so not sure why reinstalling didn't work. I did also clear my computer entirely of Spotify by deleting all the files.

I'm desperate, reinstalling the mobile or PC version doesn't help, even on another phone it doesn't work. When I like tracks on the PC they appear in the mobile app, but when I like them on the phone they don't appear on the PC and web version, from different phones, it seems the app on the phone is broken? Do you have these problems?  I also cleared the cache, deleted folders on the phone and computer, I even reset my phone to factory settings and tried another device, it doesn't help, on the mobile app, likes are not sent to the server, please fix this, I can only use Spotify normally on the PC.

When I like tracks from phone they don't appear in pc/web version, but when I do same from pc/web they appear on mobile version. Other features like playlist pin in library works correctly.

Spotify wont sync liked songs defined from Spotify Mobile iOS (last 9.1.6.1142).

No issue on linked songs defined on Web or MacOS app, they appears correctly on iOS applications. But all liked songs defined or undefined on iPhone are not synced back to Web (web browser) or MacOS app.

Liked/unliked songs on MacOS or Web are correctly synced to iOS, but not the reverse.

No issues with others playlists, only Liked Songs has the issue.

I tried to clear cache / datas on iOS, uninstall/reinstall mobile app, logout/login on iOS or even MacOS or Web, no solution.

I did not had this issue before.

I do not think i had the issue yesterday.
Do you have the issue with other playlists ?
On my side, it is only Liked songs playlist which have issue. And only from mobile app (iOS).

Hi, the same, everything works, everything is added to playlists but likes don't work but i use android. From my PC, likes are added just like yours, I'm 100 percent sure that this is a problem on the Spotify side
