Local files won't add to playlists

Hello! Using spotify mainly on my desktop (macOS (Apple Silicon)
1.2.40.599.g606b7f29) I recently found that I can't add my local files to playlists anymore. The files will play alright, and when I add them to playlists it says "added to your playlist" - only it isn't. The songs just don't show up in the playlists.

Does anyone know this problem or have an idea how to fix it?

Thanks for getting in touch about this and welcome to the Community! 

Could you let us know if this happens only on your PC or you can replicate this issue on other devices as well? We'd also like to know if this happens while trying to add the files to a large playlist. 

If this only happens on your PC, it's well worth running a clean reinstall of the app to get rid of any cached files that might be causing trouble.
