Missing Playlists on Apple Watch 6

Missing Playlists on Apple Watch 6

Premium / USA / Apple Watch 6

I have over 30 playlists.  When my iPhone is ON, my Apple Watch shows all of the playlists.  The moment I power off my iPhone, at least 10 of the playlists are no longer available on my Apple Watch.  WHY?

The whole idea is being able to leave your phone at home when you go to the gym, or for a run... any suggestions?  Thank you.

Hey there @MamboItaliano,

Thank you for your post here in the Community.

Can you let us know which version of the app you have?

Note:  Make sure that you update to watchOS 6.0 or newer.

Keep us posted. We're always one reply away.

Cheers!

Hey again @MamboItaliano,

Thank you for your reply.

Can you try the following:

  1. Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone.
  2. Tap My Watch, go to General > Software Update, then, if an update is available, tap Download and Install.

We'll keep an eye out for your reply 🙂

Cheers!

I did that yesterday afternoon, for both my phone and watch. Both are
current and up to date.
Thank you.

Hey @MamboItaliano,

Thanks for keeping in touch.

We recommend running a clean reinstall of the app by following these steps. This can be helpful to get rid of any cached files that might be causing trouble.

It's also a good idea to unpair your watch, reset it, and pair it again with your phone.

Keep us in the loop.

Ok, I did all that.
Now nothing plays, at all, when my phone is off.
I have a cellular plan, just in case you were going to ask that next. Thank
you.

Quick update - The watch is playing again (offline/cellular) but I am back to square one — I can only see about 60% of my playlists.
thank you.

Hi again @MamboItaliano,

Thanks for trying and getting back in touch.

Could you let us know if the same happens when the watch is using a different connection?

If possible, we'd also like you to try with a different Spotify account, like a friend's or relative's, to narrow down if this is account-related.

We'll be looking out for your reply.
