My Question or Issue

This issue was marked as revolved about a month ago but it has not been resolved for me. About 25 days ago, two different songs were added to my On Repeat playlist but otherwise nothing has changed on either one of the playlists. I don’t listen to the songs anymore, I’ve updated the app, I’ve logged in and out multiple times and still nothing. The songs have been exactly the same and in the same order for over a month.

my on repeat hasn't updated in 5 weeks! never had this problem before & didn't change my listening habits. android, premium, latest version app, tried log out & log in.

The On Repeat playlist should update every 5 days or so. Could you check when the latest update was by logging in on the desktop app / Web Player? @tcourt__, it's been a while: does everything look good on your end now?

 

If you're opening the playlist directly from Your Library, try unfollowing it and accessing it from Search > Made for You instead to see if this would do the trick.

I had tried all of those things and it didn’t help. However, I opened it in the desktop version and it still hadn’t updated, but when I widened the screen to be able to see when it was updated, it refreshed and now the songs are different. So, I guess it’s resolved.

Hi! My On Repeat playlist is not updating correctly. The last couple of weeks it has updated a bit slower but the right songs, however now I noticed it includes many song I have not listened to at all in the last couple of weeks, some maybe once. And all the top songs have also not updated. I know this, since I’ve been pretty much listening to the same playlist for the last couple of weeks and most of the songs that are actually on repeat are no where to be seen in my On Repeat playlist. I have tried most of the troubleshooting – I have the newest iOS update (iphone 13 mini), newest Spotify update, I have logged in and out and tried the web player. Is there a reason for this or something else I should try? Thanks!

Mine was/has been doing the same thing. It updated finally after opening it in the desktop app and widening the screen to see when the tracks were last added. It was after a few minutes. Now pretty much all of a songs are updated. But I had the same issue where it hadn’t updated prior for months.

Mine is doing the same. It hasn't updated for over 3 weeks. I have tried clearing cache, uninstalling and reinstalling, and downloading the computer app. Nothing has helped.

Thanks for your reply here and welcome. 

 

As mentioned by @Yordan, try locating the playlist directly from Your Library, and unfollow it. Then, look for it by going to Search> Made for You to follow it again. 

 

Keep in mind that the playlists made for you won't update as often if perhaps most of the music you've recently listened to comes only from your personalized playlists (Discover Weekly, Daily Mixes, Release Radar, etc.). We'd suggest you actively explore some new music for a couple of days, using the Search option.

 

If this behavior persists after some time, it'd be awesome if you sent us:

  • The make/model and OS of the affected device.
  • The exact Spotify version you're running there.
  • Does this happen across all your devices?
  • Do you use a VPN service? If yes, set Spotify as an exception. Keep in mind Spotify doesn't officially support VPN. This means that issues with the app while using VPN are expected behavior.

I have the same exact problem. I tried all of the suggestions in this thread, nothing worked. Not dragging the desktop window, not logging in and out, not getting to the playlists through the search bar. I have the newest version of Spotify, I updated it on the 13th of June, there are no updates showing. My Repeat Rewind has been the same since the 30th of April and my On Repeat for two weeks now.
Nothing helped and I definitely listened to some new songs (on a playlist made by me) on repeat for at least a week now.
 
I have the same problem on my phone and my laptop, an iPhone 11 with iOS 18.0.1 and a MacBook Air 2017 with macOS Monterey 12.7.6.
 
I hope the problem isn't because my systems are not updated because none of my devices support those updates anymore, they are updated to the last one they supported, and I won't buy new devices just because of this.
 
My Spotify version is 1.2.66.447.g4e37e896 on my laptop and 9.0.50.511 on my phone.
 
And I don't use a VPN ever.

The songs seem to only update once a month for me, maybe it wasn’t truly resolved. And it adds a lot of songs I only listened to once or twice in the weeks prior to updating, when there are plenty of songs I actually listen to on repeat daily that never grace this playlist.
