My Question or Issue

On Repeat and Repeat Rewind haven't updated for me for 10 days. I've tried a few of the previous suggested solutions (uninstall and reinstall the app, signing out everywhere). Are there any other solutions?

Hey there @Nyrobee,

Thanks for the reply.

On repeat and Repeat Rewind will only update once the algorithm has gathered enough data on songs which you listen frequently to. It may not update if you're listening to more songs for month on end, than newer content.

The best way around this is listening to new content via the Search tab.

Another reason for those playlist not updating could be listening to a primarily a certain genre or a handful of artists. If the algorithm can't gather enough data for an update, it won't populate the playlists with new content.

Hope this helps.

Hey @PakaBthanks for your post! I've seen a few instances of this popping up in the last couple days, and we'll be keeping an eye out for more to see if this becomes more widespread and go from there. That said, the best option right now would be to just keep listening to your favorite tracks to allow the app to continue to adapt to your music tastes, and hopefully these playlists will get back to updating for you in the coming weeks. Please let us know if you run into any further issues or if this doesn't resolve itself over time.

While the mentioned thread has the status "Fixed" my repeat rewind playlist is still not updating. Did a reinstall and singing out everywhere. I'm on version 8.6.34.749.

Hey @Nyrobee

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community, and welcome!

Can you confirm if this is happening across all devices?

It would also be helpful to have the make, model and exact OS version of the devices in which you're experiencing this issue.

Keep us posted.

I'm experiencing this on all devices (oneplus 7t / android 11, windows 10). One specific thing I noticed that almost half of the playlist consists of songs of one session from several months ago.

Hey @Nyrobee

Thanks for getting back to us with this info.

Could you let us know if you've enabled private listening recently?

Also, could you give it a try using a different internet connection just to see if you notice anything new?

We'll be on the lookout.

I haven't used the private session option for a long time. About a different internet connection: did use this on 4G but without any difference. I don't have access to another internet network at the moment.

My on repeat mix is updating on a regular basis.

Hi @Nyrobee

Thanks for your reply.

Just to confirm, have you made sure to follow these exact steps when reinstalling the app?

Also, let us know when was the last time your Repeat Rewind updated.

We'll be right here.

Followed the exact steps again. Nothing changed.

Last update of Repeat Rewind: 7 june 2021.

Hi again @Nyrobee

Thanks for keeping us in the loop.

In this case, we'd recommend waiting at least 5 more days while trying to listen to new or different songs than the ones you usually listen to.

If you notice the same behavior after this time, feel free to send us the URI of the affected playlist so we can take a look from our end.

Keep us posted.

Hi,

I've listened to a lot of different music in the last month, still nothing
is changing in the mentioned playlist. Also mentioned earlier in this
conversation that a lot of songs in the current playlist are from just one
listening session (already 3 months or more ago) which was completely out
of my normal listening habits. It seems strange that Spotify takes these
songs as a representation of my listening habits in the past. To me this
looks like there is something wrong which isn't changing by listening to
other music. Also, your colleague advised the same last time and I followed
her suggestions without any result. So this repeated advice isn't very
helpful.

Hey @Nyrobee,

Thanks for getting back to us.

We appreciate you taking the the time to share with us this info and the outcome of the troubleshooting steps that were suggested so far.

Could you wait a week to see if anything changes? If that doesn't make a difference, let us know. We'll look into this further.

Keep us in the loop.
