My Question or Issue
Hello everyone,
since some time (three to four weeks I guess) I am not able to play Podcasts via Webplayer or on any Spotify Connect-Device like my Amazon Echoes, my Samsung SmartTV or my Playstation 4.
It simply does not start playing, when I choose the device from the devices menu or when I click the "play" Button in the web player.
As I am an IT-guy I already checked multiple systems as source, including freshly installed ones and systems I never did log in from before. Nothing works!
My tested devices are
- iPhone 12 Pro, latest iOS 15.4.1, latest Spotify.app 8.7.22.1405
- brand new iPad Pro 11", latest iPadOS 15.4.1, latest Spotify.app 8.7.22.1405
- Redmi Note 8, latest Android, latest App (don't know the exact version atm)
- Spotify-Web-Player on my Mac (Safari 14.1.1, Chrome 100)
- Spotify-Web-Player on my Windows-Workstation (Chrome 100)
Edit:
I reinstalled my Amazon Echoes already, rebooted my router and everything. Also tested the Connect-Feature with my girlfriend: She can connect to the Amazon Echoes without any problem ("Alexa, connect to Spotify"- command).
Important to say: It does NOT rely on the Amazon devices nor the other ones since the WEBPLAYER is also BROKEN for me!
EVERYTIME it does not play podcasts on the connect-devices or the web player but on the Mobile Apps and the Mac App it works fine. I really don't know what's going on here!
Some folks on twitter reported the same issues since months.
I pay premium since years, nothing changed lately...
Please help or fix this! This is a REAL issue for me.

Thanks for posting in the Community and for the extensive troubleshooting you've already tried.
Could you check this thread for further information?
The main point is that some speakers are unable to play podcasts via Spotify Connect, as podcasts are considered mixed media.
Do you have trouble playing all podcasts on those platforms you mention or just certain ones?

i checked the thread, but it is not helpful.
I can not play any podcast at all mentioned platforms.
The problem is not only present on my Alexa Echoes, it is ALL Connect-Devices linked to my account plus the webplayer. So Amazon Echoes, Sony PS4, Samsung SmartTV and WEBPLAYER (which should be independent from any other manufacturer…) It worked before, that’s how I know it is possible. If I change the account to e.g. my girlfriends account it works perfectly.
So this issue is related to my personal account… please HELP 😞

There could be some caching issue related to your account that's causing this. The folks over at Customer Support can take a closer look at this since they have access to the necessary tools and can clear the cache from their end.
In case the issue persists afterwards, what we'd suggest is creating a new account since you mentioned that you don't encounter this on your girlfriend's account. Customer Support will guide you through the process, transferring your library to the new account as well as helping you resubscribe.

Same here since months. No support from Spotify twitter team Germany or worldwide. They don’t care and take it serious.

Already reinstalled everything multiple times. Cleared cache etc. nothing works. From all devices.
