Remote Jam not available / not working

Solved!

Remote Jam not available / not working

The design for Spotify Jams is creative, but it excludes one of the biggest parts of the original Spotify Sessions; users in the jam can’t listen to the music remotely, it is only played through one device. A Spotify Jam eliminates one of the major components in Spotify Sessions, so now you can only hear music through the Jam owners device/connected bluetooth device(s). If you’re going to eliminate Spotify Sessions, bringing some of its most critical component's to the next wave of its development is essential. Including an ability to toggle a remote/share listening so that a user can change whether music is played through one device or several would uphold Spotify Sessions biggest feature, while improving the UI.

My Question or Issue

I was trying to start a jam with a couple friends on discord and one who had Spotify Premium Student wasn’t able to join the jam remotely, only play off my speaker. Is Premium Student not equivalent to regular Premium, my understanding is that it was basically just premium but at a discounted price.

They’re actually in the Philippines.

"Listen Together" - A new way to enjoy music with friends 🎧

We all know Spotify Jam - a fun way to listen to music with friends by sharing one output device.

But what if you could listen together - even when you’re not in the same place?

💡 The idea: Listen Together

With Listen Together, you can invite your friends just like in a Jam.
The difference: instead of playing the music on a single speaker, everyone hears the same song at the same time on their own device.

That means if you’re on the train, walking outside, or simply hanging out in different places, you can still share the same listening experience - each person through their own headphones or speakers, perfectly synced.

🎯 Why this matters

Sometimes, you just want to share the moment - to listen to the same track as your friends, even when you’re apart.
With Listen Together, it feels like you’re in the same room, vibing to the same beat, no matter where you are.

💭 How the idea came up

Once, I wanted to listen to the same music as a friend. We tried using Spotify Jam, but quickly realized only one of us could actually hear the music.
That’s when I thought: Why not make it possible for everyone to listen in sync, wherever they are?
