My Question or Issue

So I listen to a old album or maybe some shuffle random music. I discover an old a song I would like to add to a certain playlist as it appears it has not been added before (no green mark). I add it without problem/warring that it is already there. After I add it I go to my playlist and find out that it was already there and now I have a duplicate.
This is happening on mobile and desktop and for many songs, not just a particular case.

Hi there @ra880,

Thanks for reaching out. We'll be happy to help you manage your playlists and get everything working as expected.

For something like this, it's possible that there are multiple versions or instances of the same album on the platform and the songs on your playlist and ones in the album are from different versions. Try clicking the album in the playlist itself and see if it leads you to the same playlist and if the song is marked there. If it is when going from the playlist, but isn't when finding the album via search or the artist's page for example, then it seems different versions are the reason. When you open an album on desktop, you can see a drop down menu in the bottom right that lists all versions of it, if there are any. This can help you navigate to the correct instance of that album.

Hope this clears things up.
