Spotify Daily Mix changes multiple times a day

If I exit out of the playlist and reenter, the daily mix will change. If i exit out and reenter multiple times a day, it changes multiple times a day. This is only happening on a new laptop I got, this did not happen on my old laptop or my phone.

I was wondering if there was an update to this issue because this is an issue i’ve been constantly having with my daily mixes for the last few months. The playlists will either randomly rearrange themselves multiple times throughout the day or they will just switch up with totally different songs.

I understand that y’all stated it was a perk of the daily playlists but I completely disagree because multiple songs will be replayed throughout the day. Not only are these songs being replayed, but if you hear a song you like and the playlist rearranges itself, you probably won’t be able to find it. This issue is completely ruining the Spotify user experience with the daily mixes.

• Your device's make, model and OS version.
• The version of Spotify you're running.
• The exact name of the affected playlists (ex. "Daily Mix 1", "Daily Mix 3" etc.).
• Date and time (including your time zone) of when you noticed the latest playlist update.

Our tech team requires an up-to-date update in order to dig deeper into this as we're sadly not able to reproduce the issue for the time being.

Let me know if you need any additional info, this happens to me constantly. I can reliably reproduce the issue by Liking a song in the Daily Mix I'm listening to. The entire makeup of the playlist will change each time, adding and removing genres and artists entirely. I'd like to reiterate what others have said- a Daily Mix should only update ONCE per day, and there is no reason to have these frequent updates enabled at all.

I'm also having this issue, and I dislike it a lot. While listening to any Daily Mix, I may click around on the app a bit and then return to my other windows and after a bit of time I notice a song I'd already heard is playing again and bam - I realize the whole playlist changed. I would like the changes to happen at a set hour, not randomly...

This keeps happening and it's very dumb. The playlist is called DAILY mix, it shouldn't change multiple times a day while you're listening. It makes going back to a previous song impossible, it can sometimes play the same song twice in a span of 2 or 3 hours, it can even change the whole "feel" of the playlist while you're still there.

At least give us the option of switching this off or choosing a frequency (like DAILY).

Have something to add:

after manually selecting several songs (5-6) to play from the Daily Mix - it stops instantly mixing and becomes "static".

iPhone 11 pro, iOS 16.5 (v.8.8.64.560), Windows 10 (v. 1.2.18.999.g9b38fc27), last happened to "Daily Mix 4" on 18:50 CET, 24AUG, 2023

(Note that it happens to all the Daily Mix numbers).

We just need to gather more info first. What do you mean when you mention it becomes static? Does the playback stop? It would be really helpful if you could send a video/recording of the issue, so we can have a clear understanding of the issue.

Do daily mixes first update when you connect to wifi? Say i turned my phone off for the night and turned it back on, it updates automatically once connected to wif?

any update on this issue? it keeps happening to me recently, I start playing a Daily mix, then by song 4 or 5, the order is changed and the initial playlist is different than the one on the Queue.

April 22nd 2024, 17:45 (CL time -4hs), although it doesn't happen at a specific time, it happens as soon as I select the daily mix, If I compare the list against the queue, by the 5th song the order starts changing, songs on the mix are not there, other similar songs appear, and in some cases, after playing the 50 songs, it start changing the style of the mix completely, and starts playing  the same "most listened songs", like it goes in a rabbit hole playing the same music, deviating from the original playlist.

Thank you for replying to the one person who is clearly having a different issue instead of *any* kind of update on this years old problem. We *know* y'all don't need more info to make DAILY playlists update DAILY, or at least give us an option to fix it ourselves. If y'all don't plan on fixing it because you don't care about our experience, let us know. If you're working on it, let us know that as well as when we can expect it to be fixed because this clearly a quick fix issue. Seriously. This is *obviously* unwanted behavior. Literally nobody wants a playlist called "Daily playlists" that updates any more or less often than daily, the fact that this is something that was actually suggested and then implemented is insane.

My daily mix 2 goes from a southern blues rock playlist to all classical music. None of my other playlists seem to have changed at all. For clarification, I've listened to the same playlist all day today, came back from lunch, still listening to it, and it went immediately to classical and replaced every single song in my list. It's so disappointing to view the downward spiral that Spotify continues to take year after year after year after year.

This behavior is beyond frustrating. Changes on my lists that I was listening without any user control... beyond frustrating. Might just move to YouTube music...
