Spotify not counting music listened to in someone else's playlist?

My Question or Issue

So I listen to a friend's playlist almost exclusively (not my own playlist). I've probably racked up a couple hundred hours alone in january just from that playlist. But when I check the "Top artists this month" and "Top tracks this month" on the profile section of my account, none of the artists/tracks actually reflect the artists I've been listening to? Is spotify recording the tracks i've been listening to from external playlists? Makes me worried for spotify wrapped because I want my rankings to be truly reflective.

Your streams should count regardless of from which playlist you listen to.

A situation where they may not count is when you've turned on a private listening session.

Right now I'd recommend making sure it's turned off.

Thing is we won't be able to know just for sure if it's working well now so I request that we wait  a while to see if it doesn't get updated.
