Weird Algorythm (Weekly Mix and Autoplay)

My Question or Issue

Since 2 months I've been getting weird recommendations in my weekly mix. And its not one or two songs but the complete playlist. I don't know why, but it's becom a mix of german folk songs and indian songs. I have nothing against those two genres, but wish i had my normal recommendations back. I never listen to music like this. And I don't know what to do. Please help :,D (plus when I'm listening on autoplay, it also plays these songs)

It's always a good idea to secure your account in these cases to make sure everything is in order and no one is accessing your account without your consent. You can find out more on how to secure your account here.
 

On another note, we'd like to add some insights about this behavior. Keep in mind these playlists (e. g. Daily Mixes, Autoplay recommendations) are created by Spotify based on your recent listening activity. We suggest you make sure the Private Session is off, so the algorithm can gather enough info about your most recent listening activity. Also, make sure you're listening to music not only from other recommended playlists like Discover Weekly or Daily Mix, but through the Search option as well.

Keep in mind that if most of the music you listen to comes from your personalized playlists (like Discover Weekly, Daily Mix, Autoplay recommendations), the new suggested content won't update as often or be as accurate. It's worth mentioning that these playlists update regularly, so please give them some breaks, explore some new music, and check in the coming weeks and let us know how it goes.

Its the third time in a couple of months where my personal weekly mix is full of traditional Indian folk music eventough I never listen to this kind of music.

Unfortunately I already tried all those steps. Nobody else has access to my account and all of the other personal playlists, made by spotify are working as usual. I dont know why only my weekly mix is affected.
Is there anything else I can do? My weekly mix is important to me, because its the best to discover new songs :I

Thanks for your reply and the info provided.

There are some tips to improve the personalization of upcoming mixes. These are some of the things you can try:

• Hiding a song (clicking the - icon from the 3 dots menu) will remove it from the personalized playlist 
• Banning an artist (clicking the Ø icon from the artist's page) - this will stop us from recommending the artist
• Turn off autoplay for a while to stop these unwanted recommendations from playing 
• If you see any mix created by Spotify with unwanted recommendations, open it > 3 dots > Exclude from my taste profile

You can also follow @AlejaR's recommendations and let us know if you see any changes in the coming weeks.
