What songs does Spotify add to the family blend playlists?

Like if I get invited to a blend playlist what songs do they add? Do they add songs from my private playlists? Do they add songs that I listen to with private sessions on

Thanks for reaching out to the Spotify Community!

For blend playlists, the main goal of Spotify's algorithm is to match your 'favourite' songs with that of the person you are blending with. So typically in a Spotify blend, they will match a similar artist (that both of you listen to quite often - or at least, the artist that you both match up with the most) and a percentage match of taste (usually based on how similar the genres you listen to are). The songs are a mix of;

1) The songs you both listen to

2) Songs you listen to*

3) Songs they listen to*

*Within similar genre categories  - although there may be some 'odd ones out' so to speak - as Spotify also tries to bring a few of each of your taste the other may not be familiar with, to introduce you fully to their taste in music.

The algorithm usually sticks to the songs you've each favourited (with the heart), so if you listen on your private sessions to songs you haven't favourited, most likely these won't be included in the blend.
