how to stop Spotify from adding songs to my playlist

Solved!

how to stop Spotify from adding songs to my playlist

I set up specific songs in each of my specific folders and that is all I want in each folder. Spotify keeps adding songs to my playlists in my specific folders, because Spotify thinks that I will like the Spotify-selected songs in my playlists. I DO NOT WANT SPOTIFY TO ADD ANY SONGS TO ANY OF MY PLAYLISTS. How can I stop Spotify from doing this?

Hey there,

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

Just to confirm, is your account Premium or is it on our free service? Our free experience on mobile is different; keep in mind music on-demand is a Premium feature. Free accounts work differently on desktop apps and web players.

When you're using the app on a mobile device, you can listen to your playlists on Shuffle and take into account the app adds suggested tracks within the same album/playlist. You can read more about the free experience here. So it's expected on free accounts to hear some suggested tracks on a playlist created by you.

If your account is Premium, we'd suggest you check enhance/Smart shuffle is disabled, so you won't hear any suggested tracks on your playlists. You can also check that the Autoplay feature is disabled as well.

We hope you found this helpful. Keep us in the loop!

We have just created a works playlist and I'm having this trouble it's adding random heavy metal songs from another playlist and it's not the sort of music they want on this playlist it's really doing my head in I just want to add songs that fit and it's adding stuff that don't fit at all

Please fix this issue!! As paying customers of the premium account we should have the right to choose what we want in our playlist. Disabling the enhanced and autoplay buttons does not work. At the moment I am considering ending my family Spotify subscription and using the $$ for a premium YouTube account instead.

Hey there folks,

Thanks for posting in this thread!

While it's expected to see recommended songs added temporarily to some playlists when using the free service, you should only see tracks that you've added yourself if you're on Premium and Smart Shuffle is switched off.

Should you already have double-checked that Smart Shuffle is off, it's worth having a look at the play queue as well, just to ensure the tracks you're seeing aren't queued.

If this behavior persists, however, it would be great if you could send us a video or screenshots showing how the tracks appear from your end, so we can look into this further. If the files are too large to attach here in the Community, you can send them to us via Google Drive or as unlisted YouTube videos.

Let us know how you get on!

I literally have 11,000 songs. Literally enough to supply more than a week. how is it putting random songs. I wasnt even shuffling. I let it go for a couple of days and it should still have a lot of music left.

my playlist:

(if your wondering why my laylist  has 11000 songs, which is basically another playlist copied many times, spotify shuffling is absolutely ass, and why not have an 11k song playlist)

I have the same issues.
My playlists always play in random.
When I use the browser everything works fine.
macOS App, iOS App always play random and sometimes also play Ads.
I have a Family Membership, that I pay for.
May this be connected to your measurements against hacked premium apps and it also affects your own apps?
