6.5.0.1665 - no longer works with BMW Connected Drive

Just updated to 6.5.0.1665 on iphone 6s, and now when i connect via usb to my BMW ConnectedDrive, it won't integrate properly. BMW spotify screen is disabled.

Working in my BMW via Connected Drive. iPad Air 2, IOS 9.0.2. Same Spotify version.

I have ios 9.3.3 and when connecting to BMW via USB, I get a Spotify "dismiss" screen, after which I can only control Spotify thru my phone (i.e the Spotify menu is not integrated into my car's nav). Audio still comes out of my car but the menu integration is lost.
