Abysmal performance on 5th Gen iPod touch

Abysmal performance on 5th Gen iPod touch

Hi community,

I really did search the forums before posting this, apologies in advance if someone has already opened such a topic.

I have an iPhone 6S and an iPod touch 5th gen, both bought the same year. The iPod is model ME978CH/A, bought from a genuine Apple store in China with the sole intention of being used as dock'ed device with Spotify.

The problem I am having is absoultely worthless lagging performance of Spotify on the iPod touch. Heres all the fun stuff that happens on my iPod

- The app will crash if left unused for a long period of time

- Navigating (especially when waking the iPod) is so laggy it is painful. I will push "play" and it nothing will happen for up to 6 - 10 seconds at times.

- The app will crash when being used sometimes

- Did I mention the lag? It's awful.

Spotify on my iPhone 6S is reasoanbly fluid and usable. I do know their is a processor diff between the two devices, but really, should it be THIS bad?

I wonder if the Apple iPods sold in China have crippled hardware or something like that .. or can anyone else relate to such **bleep** performance on their iPods?

Any advice / tips for speedup would be appreciated.

It's a 32GB model, but has nothing on it except spotify.

Can anyone else relate to this  / any of the iOS developers reading these forums?
