Any way to sync an ipod while also using it as a hotspot?

I'm using an iphone 4s, and it's my only internet connection. I turn the hotspot option on when I need something downloaded onto my computer, but it seems as though I've run into an obstacle when it comes to syncing my device with Spotify. Since the device itself emits a wireless signal which it receives via satellite, there isn't a single wireless device acting as go-between for my iphone and computer. Can anybody think of any way out of this? Thanks!

Tethering should work. Are your devices connected via USB and is spotify open on both of them?
