App taking up 10x the space it once did

First off let me state that I am not using any offline playlists.

On my iPhone earlier today I was going through and looking at my storage.  Went to Settings -> General -> Usage and waited for the results to come up.  I was shocked to see that it reported that Spotify was utilizing over 200MB of space.  I went to the App Store and saw that it was listing as a 17MB download. WOW.

Just to check further, I went and deleted the app from my phone, and reinstalled.  Now it's showing a size of 22MB being used.

So what's being stored locally on my device that's using 10X more space than a fresh install of a streaming application? I'm confused as to why this is.

Spotify caches everything you listen to, even if it's not set to be synced offline.  Supposedly it will clear some of that after it completely fills up your phone, if something else needs the space.  The only other way to clear space is to uninstall the app.  It's a ridiculous setup, and there is a large thread complaining about it here.
