Apple Watch 4 not showing player

Apple Watch 4 not showing player

I have and Apple Watch 4 and an iPhone 12 Pro both with the lates OS version.

Sometimes when I listen to some music from Spotify and I turn the wrist my Watch does not show the music player but just the Watch face.

Is it a Spotify bug or there's an option I have to activate on my Watch/iPhone?

I've already tried to:

  1. unparing and pairing the Watch with the iPhone
  2. Re-initialize the Watch
  3. Uninstalling and re-installing Spotify on my Watch

Thanks

Hi there @emabia72,

Thanks for reaching out about this.

The app controls should show up automatically when you move your wrist up.

Could you try to perform a clean reinstall of the app on your phone as well as the watch. Check out the relevant steps in this guide? Make sure you're downloading the app from the official apple store here.

Hope this helps. Keep us posted.

I have a brand new iPhone 12 Pro and I've done a clean install of the the app on the phone as well as the watch (restored it to factory settings before pairing with the phone).

Hey again @emabia72,

Thank you for your reply.

Can you let us know which version of the app you have?

Also - can you log in with another account - such as a friend's or a family member's to see if the issue persists?

We'll keep an eye out for your reply.

Cheers!

Hi !!!

I have 8.5.83.1426 version of the app but, I'm sorry, I don't have another account I can log in with.

Hey again @emabia72,

Thank you for your reply.

Can you try with a soft reset of the devices?

If it's possible - can you create another account that you can log in on to if the issue persists?

It would also be great if you can provide a photo of what you can see on the watch.

Keep us posted 🙂

Cheers!

Performed the soft reset.

Now it seems to work anyway in the attached file you can see what I usually see when I turn my wrist.

Let see if it keeps working fine in the next days.

Thanks

It worked out fine for one day only

now the issue is back again

Hi there @emabia72,

Sorry to hear that the app isn't working properly again.

In this case you can try doing a factory reset of the watch.

Also, did you try contacting the Support team from Apple about this?

Cheers.

I have alreay done a "factory" and a "quick" reset of the watch.

I'm going to an Apple Store on next wednesday for another issue maybe they are aware of this thing and they can give me a useful tip

Hi again @emabia72,

Keep us posted when you get in touch with Apple's support.

I could not go to Apple Store last week and now I'm still fightin' with Spotify player showing itself "every now and then".

I'm listening to my music right now and I cannot see the player on Apple Watch face.

All I can say is that sometimes it works sometimes it does not.

Hey again @emabia72,

Thank you for your reply.

Can you try again with a factory reset?

If that doesn't do the trick - can you create another account as suggested in a reply before - log in with it to see if the issue persists?

Cheers!
