Audio playback stops on iOS 8.1 on iPhone 6 plus

Hi,

I have recently switched over to the iPhone. I have an iPhone 6 Plus and am a long time paid subscriber of Spotify.

In the last few weeks, I've noticed that after every few songs, the audio will stop, though the song is still playing, as can be seen from the increasing time and the moving bar on the lock screen for the song.

I have to skip to the next song to get audio playback and then this will happen again after a few songs.

Spotify Version: 2.0.0.1643.

I usually download all my stuff on Extreme Quality and play both while having connectivity and without and this happens on both occasions.

I am pretty certain that this happens whether I'm using bluetooth headphones or normal earpods.

Can you please help me out with this?

I noticed the the Google App will stop Spotify playback once it launches. Google recently added a listening feature for voice control and its stopping Spotify because the mic is active.
