My Question or Issue
Im unable to create a new playlist when I’m connected to my car’s Bluetooth. I haven’t tried it connected to any other Bluetooth like headphones, but when I click “add to a playlist>New playlist” nothing happens. The button gets darker when I push it, but no menu or anything comes up. I normally have car view on but I turned it off to try and make the playlist (I’m in park ofc lol). When I turned off Bluetooth on my phone to disconnect from the car and see if maybe that was the issue, I was able to create the playlist.
Im having the same problem, when my passenger is trying to save songs to one of my playlists or while im camping listening through the car, new playlists cannot be created or songs wont add to exciting playlists without disconnecting from bluetooth its extremely inconvenient… i have iphone 13, with the latest IOS in the UK premium spotify
Hey @Lozd60,
Thanks for reaching out to the Community and welcome.
Could you tell us if this happens with other playlists? Also, let us know the exact iOS version, Spotify version installed on your device, make/model, and firmware version of your car receiver?
On another note, tell us if the songs that can't be added to the existing playlist, can be added to other ones (let us know if the affected playlist is private, public and collaborative).
We'll stay tuned.
It’s been almost a year since this post has been up and it still has happened across IOS and Spotify updates. I have tried it with multiple of my own playlists whether they be public or private or collaborative. I have Spotify 8.7.40 and IOS 15.5. I have a 2020 Toyota Camry XSE, and it’s firmware it’s up to date, idk how to find the info for what it is.
Hey there @PriorityGaming,
Thanks for getting back to us.
Would you mind trying if the same happens if you connect your phone to other devices through Bluetooth (like headphones or speakers)?
We'll be on the lookout.
yes!! i was tired of this i cant do anything when connected to car bluetooth literally almost only listening to songs, i don’t have a drivers license i just often play in the car.
Hey @norazz!
Would you mind testing this with another Bluetooth device and letting us know if the issue persists there as well?
Much appreciated!
Hi, i regularly play spotify through, my bluetooth speaker, airpods, sky box and through my tv, nonissues with creating playlists or adding to them,
I have Spotify 8.7.44.1663, my iphone 13 is IOS 15.5, my car is Ford Focus hatchback MKIII zetec 115 TDCI 1.6 2012 model, no clue on firmware of in-car sound system, all playlists are affected public, private and collab, but works fine on all other bluetooth devices.
thankyou (sorry it has taken a while replying i do appreciate you replying to the issue though thankyou)
Okay, right after i replyed originally a few mins ago got in car and well it works i can create new and add to playlists while connected must have had an update in Spotify or something, dont know when as i have been away so not been using my car for abit, so for me problem solved.
