Bug report for Slow WiFi Sync

Since the iOS WiFi issue still hasn't been resolved, I thought I'd try to quantify it and fill in the bug report template. I would really appreciate a response on this, since I'm burning through my data plan by syncing on LTE.

Description

Syncing playlsits over WiFi is extremely slow, 100% of the time. It takes over an hour to sync one playlist on WiFi, while the same playlist syncs in under 10 minutes over LTE.

A more detailed description, using numbered steps

Here is my test procedure.

1. Pick a song available on Spotify and MOG ("The Waiting", by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, from "Greatest Hits". Duration = 3:59)

2. Set Spotify iOS to use "Extreme" quality (320 kbps) for sync and streaming.

3. Set MOG iOS to use high quality (320kbps) for syncing and streaming on WiFi.

4. Set Spotify OS X to use high quality playback.

5. Create a playlist with that single song.

6. Download the song using MOG on WiFi.

7. Make playlist available offline using Spotify iOS on WiFi.

8. Make playlist available offline using Spotify iOS on LTE (note: had to create a new playlist with same song, same duration, from a different album, "Anthology").

9. Make playlist available offline using Spotify OS X on WiFi.

All iOS tests were done on the same iPhone. All WiFi tests were done on the same 802.11 b/g/n wireless network using the 2.4GHz band, with no other load. Typical ISP bandwidth on this network is ~6Mbps. The wireless router is a Netgear WNDR3400v02.

What I expected to happen

I expected the Spotify iOS client on WiFi to have a similar download time to MOG. Approximately 10-15 seconds for the song.

(Incidentally, I expected the same of the desktop app!)

What actually happened

Summary of download times:

Spotify iOS WiFi:  3 minutes 25 seconds (this is way too long!)

Spotify iOS LTE:   3 seconds (this is pretty awesome)

Spotify OSX WiFi: 1 minutes 2 seconds

MOG iOS WiFi:     12 seconds
