Can I use iPad 2 spotify app with built in USB on car stereo

Hello, I just bought a new car stereo which has bluetooth as well as a built in USB port which allows me to connect my iPod or iPad and the keyword radio will play the music from the device through the car stereo headset. Apps such as pandora, Iheart radio and others work by just opening the app while connected to the radio. Would this work as well with the premium spotify app? Would the headunit recognize the spotify app and play the music. Would my radio display track info from the spotify app? I know spotify works if I hook it up through my android phone using an auxiliary cable, but want to know if it would work with spotify as well. Your service is so amazing and just want to listen in my car as well.
