Can not give spotify app access to local network

Can not give spotify app access to local network

Device: iPhone

Operating System: iOS 16.2

In the Spotify app settings (in the iOS setting app) I can not see the option to allow the Spotify app to access the lokal network. Also in the iOS settings app via privacy -> local network I do not see the spotify app. As a result I don't see network devices in the spotify app when I play music and can for example not cast to a google chromecast device.

I have tried the following many times:

- restart wifi router

- restart iPhone

- uninstall/reinstall Spotify app

What can I do to see my network devices from the spotify app?

Hi there @Lucky10! Thanks for bringing this to the Community and welcome! 🙂

Can you provide us the Spotify version your device is running? Also, we can try another simple test to ensure this may be an account-related issue.

Try logging in to your Spotify account using another iOS device running iOS 16.2 (from a friend or relative) and check if the option "Local Network" appears.

Please keep us posted on how you get on.

Mateus.

The solution is to allow in settings-> devices to play on local devices and then to try to find local devices when playing a song via the “speakers” button. In the following window you can select search local network which will trigger the missing iOS setting menu.
