My Question or Issue
when playing Spotify audio on wireless car play and wired the audio comes out of only one speaker. It almost sounds like it’s trying to play Audio over a phone call instead of stereo.
other apps and Apple Music don’t have this problem it only occurs in Spotify. It used to work fine but now doesn’t.
Update: today when this happened again, I tried to change the volume in the car system and it said that the volume I was changing was the call volume.
Somehow the system assumes that the spotify sound is a call and not media when this happens.
there is really some compatibility issues between spotify and carplay.
Hey @Silveiras86,
Thanks for your reply in this thread 🙂
We really appreciate the time you took to report this to us. In this case, we suggest you get in touch with Apple to see if they can give you some alternatives to try. In the meantime, we recommend you maintain up-to-date both your device and the app.
We hope you found this helpful. We're always here to help.
Take care!
Hello,
Apple says it’s not their issue and to contact you.
TBH, you really need to sort this out with Apple because it was not happening before.
I’m in the urge of simply changing to Apple Music over this.
Is there a solution to this problem? It is 2023 and I am still suffering from this. I have family plan and considering to change to Tidal if there is no working solution.
Unfortunately I did not find any solution.
I am now using Apple music whenever I am in the car since it does not happen with Apple Music. Only Spotify.
This is happening at least within the last 2 years (was not happening before) and in the meantime I have had:
iPhone 12 Pro Max
iPhone 13 Pro Max
and iPhone 14 Pro Max
It happened with all of them.
I have also changed from a Peugeot with wired Car Play to a BMW with wireless Carplay and the same is happening too.
So the issue is not either from my phone or cars.
I’m experiencing the same issue.
I have a feeling it’s to do with certain audio format with Spotify that causes this cracking and poor sound quality.
The sound quality is fine for a certain tracks but not for others.
To test the above hypothesis can anyone list the track that they have poor quality when playing from Spotify through CarPlay?
I have problems with the following album:
Taizé Instrumental -
I played ‘Jesus Remember Me’ and all the high end sounds are peaking out and cracking through my speakers.
I am having this same issue. Will I loose created playlists with a reinstall of the app?
I cleared my cache and reinstalled and it is still not working. Do you have another workaround? Very frustrating.
The level of signal tooo high and this is the problem, tha same thing is when u connect via BT with maximum volume. This basic knowlage has tidal where sound is perfect. Spotify team is not professional
