Crazy iOS battery drain whilst on wifi

Solved!

Crazy iOS battery drain whilst on wifi

So I recently upgraded to premium coming from Apple Music, there are positives on both side but the massive battery draw/limit to downloads may be a deal breaker for me.

But, first things first I've got a month to figure out the problems! The battery drain is the most painful one of all. The first two days were **bleep** no matter what I did the app would drain my battery at insane rates (a percent a minute at times whilst using my phone). I went on Reddit and someone recommended I clear all my active apps and restart. That actually fixed it.

Until this morning that is, using it normally the phone was crazy hot. Looking more into it, noticed that this only occurred when my phone was on wifi. All features etc are enabled (although disabling them doesn't do anything).

So let's figure this out, could it be Spotify connect? Could it be my downloaded songs (I have about 2.5k) verifying over the internet? Could it be my phone? I could try and reinstall the app but I sincerely doubt that'd fix the problem.

Regardless, I'm narrowing down the causes of the battery drain so it must be something explainable and hopefully fixable (if not in the settings maybe in a update?)

Found my solution: turn off the Apple analytics in Settings -> Privacy -> Analytics turn all of them off.

I can't prove this is the problem but it seems to be the cause as after I disabled it Spotify stopped draining my battery. Now I'm happy with it!

Hope this works for you, all the best.
