Device connection/sync problems

My ipod wont seem to connect to spotify and show in the devices list. I kept ejecting and reconnecting it and shutting down Itunes but that doesn't seem to help. I have also reinstalled spotify. Any suggestions please?

If it is one of the newer devices with the lightning connector, there is a known bug. If not, please give some more information, maybe use the template in this post as a guide.
