Won't Sync new song to My ipod Classic. Please help.

iPad never stops syncing...
My iPad has recently started syncing ALL the time. (The sync icon shows activity whenever the app is open no matter how long it is open.). I don't see a specific playlist or song that is stuck downloading. What is this? How do I resolve it? Thanks!
