Do I need to use wireless to go online?

I am running Spotify on my iPhone with downloaded songs (offline mode).  I know that I need to go online once every 30 days to keep my downloaded songs active.  Does that mean that I need to go online through a wireless LAN, or is it enough to go online through the normal cell connection?  It does seem as if a normal cell connection hooks me up to the Spotify system (I can see all of my playlists, even new ones).  But is that enough?

Any connection to Spotify is enough, doesn't matter if it is via WiFi or mobile network internet. 😉
