Everything I play gets repeated by default

My Question or Issue

Every single time I play anything--a song, an album, a playlist--the "repeat" option is on by default. I have to tap it twice to get rid of it. This wouldn't be such a problem if it didn't repeat every song visible in the queue. So instead of playing all 1000 songs I have in a playlist, it'll only play as much as it can list on my screen before repeating itself. I don't think there's ever been a time in my life where I used the repeat function, if I want to hear something again I just tap the (|<) button. How can I permanently disable this function?
