The latest update (8.8.28.416) broke the fast forward/rewind buttons when holding down the forward/back arrows, making it impossible to use this on CarPlay/in the car. Why was this removed?! Add it back please! Makes Spotify unusable to me!

It's still happening to me on my VW Scirocco 2015 with the latest app updated, latest iOS. It temporarily solves the issue if I log out of the account and log back in but sure enough the next day I get the same issue and if I rewind it keeps rewinding infinitely. Previous track and Next Track seem unaffected, only happens with rewind and fast forward. I tried apple music and I don't have any issues

Hi Joan , I am updated to Spotify 8.8.40 and there is no Option to update and I an updated to apple iOS 16.5. I have done all of the steps possible and this is still happening ,

I'm on Spotify 8.8.40.462 now and still not fixed. Start fast forwarding, doesn't stop. Start rewinding, doesn't stop. 2020 Mazda CX-9. Bluetooth. iOS 16.3.1. iPhone XR.
This is not fixed. There is no solution. Read through this thread, please. People have been articulating this problem very well. It's still broken even on version 8.8.40.462. It is not solved. It should still be open. A solution has not been found. Version 8.8.30 did not fix it. It's still broken on 8.8.40.462. This Spotify community self-serve help desk thing is frustrating, inaccurate, slow, and ineffective in my opinion.
I and lots of other people are having this exact issue- super frustrating!
When my phone is connected to my cars bluetooth (2014 Intellilink infotainment system) and I want to fast-forward, I hold the skip button down on my car's interface, (which is either through the buttons on the steering wheel or the ones below the screen) and then I release it when I want to stop fast-forwarding. This has worked for years with no problem, but now I have this terrible issue- and I've done everything to confirm it's not an issue with the car. Thankfully this forum exists and I now know I'm not the only person with this problem. I only hope it's fixed soon, as when I lift up on the skip button to stop fast forwarding, it just continuously fast-forwards through every song uncontrollably unless I swipe out of the app on my phone- no bueno! Please pleaseeee communicate this with the engineers so it can be fixed soon :")
I am and so are many others-don't worry about getting the car checked, it's not a car issue! Just have to hope spotify fixes it sooner rather than later

I have an Iphone SE by the way. Still not working.
I have the latest iOS and latest app and it still happens as of 1 hour ago. Please fix otherwise I cannot use your service anymore. Other apps like Apple Music work perfectly and I'm using their trial at the moment
