Help with putting Spotify music on Ipod Video

I'm loving Spotify on my phone but I need more space for my music so I connected my very old Ipod Video in the computer and Spotify said I needed to get registered or whatever to Itunes. I downloaded Itunes and synced (also manually erased everything on my Ipod) up with Itunes. But when I plugged in my Ipod, Itunes would automatically load (I searched Itunes head to toe to disable this, but couldn't find anything). When this happened, Spotify crashed. This irritated the crap out of me so I un-installed Itunes.

But every time I plug in my iPod, the same thing happens. So I keep trying to start Spotify up and eventually it loads with "Qumar's Ipod" under devices. It gives me the option to Sync with Spotify, but first I have to erase my Ipod (I'm fine with this; I already erased everything in Itunes). When I click "erase and sync", it takes forever but then it brings me to the screen with all the playlists underneath.

It gives me two options as usual: Automatically sync playlists or Manually sync playlists. When I choose the manual option, it doesn't give me the option to pick the playlists I want on my iPod.

Please Help!

Spotify can only be used to sync tracks that you own to your Ipod.
