Thank you for reaching out here in the Community.
To ensure Spotify continues playing when your iPhone is locked or when you're using other apps, the first step is to enable Background App Refresh for Spotify. Navigate to Settings > General > find Background App Refresh and make sure that the option for Spotify on your iPhone is toggled on. Below is a screenshot for reference.
