How do i stop music from downloading to multiple devices?

I have 2 iphones. One is used as my regualr phone. The other is an old phone that i just want to use as a music player. I downloaded spotify on the old phone and downloaded a lot of music. When i went back to my daily phone it was downloading there too. My daily phone has less space and I did not want that to download all the music to that phone. How can i stop this from happening in the future? How can i delete all the music from my daily phone but still have it on the phone meant for music. Both phones are iphones, one is an Iphone 6 and the other is an Iphone 7.
