Hyundai i30 Issues - Track forward back buttons not working, and track name not updating on screen

I've always had issues with my i30 and spotify while connected via the supplied iPod connection cable. It should be mentioned iTunes works perfectly.

I have the following issues:

1. Track back and forward buttons dont seem to be captured by Spotify - instead, for some reason, the iPhone switches to iTunes and that starts playing..
2. The track details on the on dash display don't change. It seems stuck on the first song regardless of what song is playing.
3. Continual beeping when connected - When connecting spotify via the cable, spotify sometimes keeps playing the connected beep sound on loop - over and over again. Disconnect, and then re-connect sometimes fixes it, and sometimes it requires changing tracks back and forward several times.
